On May 16, 2016, Helm’s Brewing Co. opened a new Ocean Beach tasting room. The highly-anticipated project is the second location for Helm’s Brewing Co., which has been brewing in Kearny Mesa for three and a half years. The Ocean Beach brewery tasting room is a dog- and family-friendly. On Tuesday’s, Helm’s offers the local Ocean Beach community five dollar pints. On Wednesdays, everyone is invited to bring food from the famed Ocean Beach farmers market and drop anchor to support a local microbrewery. Locals and their pooches get their own night — and specials — on Thursdays. Stay up to date on our other events and specials by following us on social media. As true craftsmen, Helm’s utilized their kinship and industrial expertise to build their own tasting room the same way they construct their ships. Located on the corner of Newport Ave. and Cable St in Ocean Beach, this 1,100 square feet project includes 16 taps of Helm’s Brewing beer along with multiple engineering and nautical elements that define the true essence of the brand. Helm’s also features collaborations with other local San Diego breweries including South Park Brewing, Border x, Monkey Paw, and many more. Come and enjoy a laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and open space layout at Helm’s Brewing Company’s OB brewery tasting room. Helm’s also offers the opportunity for local business to hold private events at the establishment. With a projector and multiple TV’s, the space is an optimal environment for parties of up to 60 people. While Helm’s doesn’t serve food within its establishment, groups can order delivery to the brewery from a number of Ocean Beach’s finest establishment . With a strong history of service and water safety, Helm’s and its owners will continue to help strengthen and keep the local community safe by participating with a variety of local and national organizations. These organizations include The Wounded Warrior Project, The San Diego Junior Lifeguard Association, the Peninsula and greater San Diego YMCA, and the Enduragive Swim24 Challenge.
